From the moment I was six and walked into Miss Bennett's kindergarten class, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I graduated from Stockton State College with a BA in Sociology and a K - 12 teaching certificate. After moving to Colorado, my professional path took a few side trips but my ultimate goal remained the same, coming to fruition when I was a home day care provider and complimented that with a small, in-home preschool program. In 1993, I met Jan Ferrari and partnered with her to open The Louisville Preschool. I took over the director position in 1999 while remaining in the classroom, where my passions truly lie. I am energized by children as they explore and discover the world, fueled by their questions, and dedicated to helping them find strategies that will allow them to become life-long learners. I also love that the relationship I build with children and their families continues well beyond our preschool days together.

Coming from a family of educators, my love of teaching has been with me since I was a young child. I went to school at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire where I earned my Bachelors and Education degree with an emphasis in K-6th grades and a minor in Interpersonal Communication. I moved to the Denver area in 1991 and started teaching Pre-K followed by a long term substitute position with Kindergartners and then on to a First Grade teaching position. I stepped away to raise my three children but remained close to teaching. In 2012, I was introduced to Louisville Preschool with my third child and joined the teaching team in 2015. I treasure every moment I help kids learn and grow; being with children fills my soul with joy.

I started working with children in my mother’s in-home daycare at the age of 5. From that point on, my focus has been exploring this grand universe and why I came here. I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Multicultural Education. I am also certified in Kundalini Yoga, Prenatal Yoga and Yoga Ed. for children. My career spans over 20 years leading and facilitating groups of all ages. I have taught and lived internationally and love to build community wherever I go. My passion lies in supporting people, especially women and children, to embody their authentic self and follow their joy and curiosity.

I was born in Iowa and my family moved to Colorado when I was two years old. I went back to the mid-west for school at St. Olaf College, where I graduated with a degree in math. I spent many years as a data analyst but left that path to raise my two boys. My family has lived in Louisville since 2007 and I fell in love with helping kids when volunteering in my boys' classrooms. I love the energy and enthusiasm of young children and I look forward to helping them learn and grow in all possible ways.

Teaching seems to be in the blood. From playing “school” with my younger sisters to earning my Master’s in Christian Education, I’ve been teaching one way or another for a long time. My undergrad was in art, then (because I love being a student as well as being a teacher) I graduated from the Iliff School of Theology with an education degree and a Master’s of Divinity. I organized and taught Sunday School classes from preschool to high school and led adult education groups. I first met and interviewed with Kathy on an August afternoon while she was working on the classrooms. After a meaningful, fun conversation about children and learning, Kathy asked me, “Can you come to ‘Meet the Teachers’ this evening?” I was hooked. Using Storybook Journey, working with dedicated teachers in a small, play-based learning environment is as good as it gets. I am glad to be at LPS.

I was born in Illinois and moved to Superior in 4th grade when my dad got a job at Fairview High in Boulder. I attended local schools and graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Business Administration. After college I worked for Impact on Education as a program manager, working with educators in and out of the classroom to help implement new learning programs. I stepped away from work to raise my 3 children and am so excited to have landed at LPS. Preschool is such a magical time for kids. I love getting to see the world through their eyes while instilling a love for learning at a young age. Born into a family full of educators, I knew I'd end up teaching at some point in my life!

I was born and raised in Colorado and live in Erie with my husband and 3 children. In college I studied Music Therapy and earned my degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from CU Boulder. I began my teaching career as a teacher in my oldest child's preschool classroom and then in HeadStart Programs. For the past 10+ years I have taught early childhood music classes and summer music camps, partnering with The Louisville Preschool along the way. Music classes led to subbing, and now I am in the classroom on a regular basis.
